Smorgon Capital is the private asset management and investment arm of the Graham Smorgon family.
We invest in various asset classes, from property and finance to venture capital for emerging companies looking to expand their proven business model.
CEO
Luke leads Smorgon Capital by seeking, securing and nurturing investments for the family.
He spent 11 years as co-founder and CEO of Australia’s fastest growing technology consultancy Transpire. In 2022 the company was acquired by NYSE listed CI&T.
Luke has a proven track record of growing a company from small start-up into a large scale venture through to exit. He brings this first hand experience of the challenges of growing a business to the companies we invest in.
Luke has a deep understanding of how to incorporate best-practice design and technology to solve real business challenges, having led teams that build solutions for some of Australia's largest brands like Virgin Australia, ANZ and Telstra.
Luke has dedicated time to helping causes he is passionate about including The Snowdome Foundation, Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
GRAHAM SMORGON AM
Executive Chairman
Graham Smorgon is one of the most experienced and respected corporate business leaders in Australia. As Chairman of Smorgon Consolidated Industries and Smorgon Steel Group, Graham ran the largest privately family owned business group in the country.
He has sat on the boards as a non-executive director of ASX listed companies including Incitec Pivot and Arium.
His former roles include Director of Federation Square, President of the Carlton Football Club, Deputy Chairman of Melbourne Health, Director of The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and Trustee of the Victorian Arts Centre Trust.
In 2013, Graham was awarded a Membership in the Order of Australia for significant service to business and to the community in the State of Victoria.
